
David Krol
As part of his employment practice, Mr. Krol represents employers in administrative proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation in state and federal court. A notable victory includes obtaining a dismissal of a penalty assessment order issued by the California Labor Commission against an entertainment industry client for its alleged failure to maintain unemployment insurance for numerous purported employees. He has also obtained summary disposition of various claims in employment arbitrations.
Mr. Krol also counsels employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters. He has conducted harassment prevention seminars in English and Spanish.
As part of his business litigation practice, Mr. Krol has represented clients in a variety of industries, including financial services, entertainment, health care, digital media, manufacturing, and renewable energy. He successfully resolved a federal cybersquatting lawsuit, in which the cybersquatter agreed to a permanent injunction, transferred an infringing domain name and an e-mail account, and took down infringing social media accounts. He also represented a renewable energy company in a protracted dispute with a power agency and obtained an arbitration award exceeding $2 million, which was fully satisfied after the arbitration award was confirmed. In a recent commercial litigation matter, he successfully demurred to a lawsuit brought by a factoring company’s referral source which alleged that the factoring company had breached a non-circumvention agreement. Mr. Krol has also had primary responsibility for numerous appeals, having drafted appellate briefs and argued appeals in state and federal court. He has represented public and private entities in California and New York.
Mr. Krol has been admitted to the following bars: New York; California; Southern and Eastern Districts of New York; Central District of California; U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
Besides writing poetry in multiple languages, Mr. Krol enjoys playing softball, keeping track of pitch counts at his son’s baseball games, and watching his daughter’s cheerleading competitions (local and national). He has taught elementary school classes in English, Spanish, and Italian.
In 2013, Mr. Krol formed and became Head Coach of the Burbank Flag Football Giants so that he could coach his twins. The Giants have earned a Sportsmanship Award from the City of Burbank’s Parks & Recreation Department every year from 2013-2016, and appeared on the front cover of Burbank’s Parks & Recreation Guide in the fall of 2016.
Mr. Krol is fluent in Spanish and Italian, and has knowledge of French and Hebrew.
Education
In 1991, Mr. Krol graduated summa cum laude with Honors in Philosophy from Brooklyn College (City University of New York). He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and received special recognition from the Modern Languages and Literatures Department at Brooklyn College after earning perfect grade point averages in Spanish, Italian, French, and Hebrew. He is also a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi.
Mr. Krol graduated cum laude from American University Washington College of Law in 1995.
Affiliations
Mr. Krol is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. From 2012-2015, Mr. Krol was Secretary of the Benjamin Franklin Elementary Foundation, a non-profit foundation benefiting students at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School in Glendale. He was the Foundation’s President from 2015-2016.

In 2007 and 2008, Mr. Krol was named a “California Rising Star” by Los Angeles Magazine.

In November, 2014, Mr. Krol’s article entitled, “Can Employees Waive Berman Hearings? Jury Is Still Out” was published by the Los Angeles Daily Journal.
